A close-up view of the carving on this late C12th "Aylesbury" font (see shared description below). This font is far less finely carved than the one at Great Kimble for example, with quite simple clover-leaf style moulding below the rim. The fluting of the chalice-like bowl is absolutely typical of the "Aylesbury" fonts however. For a wider angle view of the font, see Image]
