The earliest parts of the Church of St Lawrence date from 1080 although there was probably an earlier Saxon chapel on the site. The tower dates from 1450 although most of the church was rebuilt in the 19th century. The graveyard, refer to picture Image, was consecrated in 1215. Burials prior to this took place at Chertsey Abbey, the transfer taking place following a petition to the Pope. For a view of the Nave refer to picture Image
