The old tile sign on the gable shows the pub once served Lacons beer. Lacons brewery was based in Great Yarmouth and closed down in 1968. In 2009 the name and trade mark were bought from a Luxembourg brewery, S.A. Brand Brew. The name has been resurrected and a new brewery has now opened up, again in Great Yarmouth.
