Downs Road, also the Roman Road Stane Street, at the foot of Juniper Hill. The road is closed to motor vehicles, and the prohibitory sign can be seen just off the drive in the foreground to Juniper Hill, a large house. Downs Road is a byway, Mickleham 160, and also the D2818. To the right of the gap for the byway is a gate, which gives access to a track parallel and slightly to the east of the byway, a legacy of an ambition to move the byway further away from the house some years ago. In the foreground is Headley Lane.
