Looking up Somersby Road, Mapperley

This is a particularly steep section of road in a generally hilly area. For many years this section of Somersby Road was thought too steep for safe bus operation, so this area's bus service historically arrived via Woodthorpe (at the bottom of the road) rather than via Mapperley.
