This cemetery, which is off Rayrigg Road, served the parish of St Mary, Applethwaite and is sometimes referred to as St Mary's cemetery (not to be confused with the burial ground of the Church of St Mary). It opened in 1888, and the first burial took place on December 20th.There is no land available for new graves, but burials still take place occasionally in reserved spaces.
