The Footballers Inn at Higher Summerseat used to be the regular haunt in the late 1960s and early 1970s of some old Coronation Street stars including Pat Phoenix (Elsie Tanner), Peter Adamson (Len Fairclough), Neville Buswell (Ray Langton) and Jennifer Moss (Lucille Hewitt) who were regulars at the pub in those days.
