Sadly, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's most famous building was badly damaged by fire six days after this photo was damaged. The fire resulted in the destruction of the library, but the archives and the majority of the building were saved due to the heroic actions of the fire crews who tackled the fire from inside the building. The building is Category A Listed http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2200:15:0::::BUILDING:33105 .
