The Plough has been a feature of the Wistanstow scene for many years now. The Wood family, founders of J P Wood's Chuckie Chicken - through their processing plant in Craven Arms brought affordable chicken to Britain's tables. After this the family bought the Plough from the Wrekin Brewery in 1968. In 1980 Anthony and Edward Wood, together with their father Basil, started Woods Brewery in buildings adjoining the pub and from those beginnings the Brewery has grown into the thriving business it is today, with its products being widely available. The Plough is the brewery tap and besides drinks, meals are also available. Time photo taken not available.
