This is not actually on the route, but if any riders take the wrong road out of the town centre, the arrows direct them back onto the road to Paris and encourage them to ride fast to rejoin the peloton. The bicycle is not the sort normally used for road racing, but the polka-dot (best climber), green (best sprinter) and yellow jerseys are authentic.
