When I visited in the 1980s this preserved pumping station housed two off-site engines in the boiler house. This particular diagonal duplex engine was built in 1864 by Easton, Amos & Sons of London and used at Stanmoor Pumping Station. It drained 790 acres of land with an Appold centrifugal pump. The cylinders are 10.5" x 1' 9" and it was jet condensing with the air pump operated off the opposite end of the crankshaft. This engine is now in store at Westonzoyland Pumping Station and this building has been converted to a house but with the in situ engine still surviving in a room used for storage.
