The Queens Tower was built in 1887 as the central tower of the Imperial Institute. It is now the only significant part of those buildings to survive, the rest having been demolished in the 1950s. The tower is now the most recognizable architectural feature of Imperial College. The image here shows the view of the surroundings of the tower during the 2014 Imperial Festival - a currently yearly festival of science run by Imperial College.
