Reputedly one of the oldest inhabited buildings in the UK. Once family home of Sir Alfred Owen, B'ham industrialist. Now an hotel (Pavarotti stayed there!). New Hall Mill and Penns Hall wire drawing mill, were both driven by Plants Brook http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/397271 which runs through New Hall Country Park.
