The building across the road which is partially obscured is the almshouse - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3970543 This is where the footpath from Old Swaylands seen at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3970524 comes out onto Rogue's Hill. A left turn and downhill to cross the River Medway leads into Penshurst.
