Nos.4 to 43 Ella Street comprise 21 substantial late Victorian houses with shaped gables. Depicted is end-of-terrace No.31, its side garden wall bearing the text "fly into the light of the dark black night" from The Beatles' song 'Blackbird'. Ella Street is designated 'The Street of Birds and Shadows' http://www.ellastreet.co.uk/ An explanatory poster is to be found on the side gable wall of No.25 Newland Avenue. Thanks go the occupier of No.33 Ella Street who drew my attention to this project.
