This Grade II listed building is the former tollhouse dating from 1839 when the turnpike road was realigned, the original turnpike of 1756 from Cheltenham to Tewkesbury, ran to the west of the site of this tollhouse. The tollhouse it replaced was a little further north on the junction of the present road with Lower Lode Lane. Today the building is a private residence.
