The square tower on the right is an early 19th century water tower built in the local rubble stone to provide a head of water to the neighbourhood. It went out of use in the 1970s.In front of it a K6 telephone box designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1935. It is in good condition. The junction on the left is a public bridleway coming in from Lowdales.
