At the August 2013 date of the view, major engineering work was in progress on widening the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road from three lanes to four lanes (dual carriageway with 2 lanes each way). Work on this section of the A465 began in 2012 and is scheduled for completion in 2015. Here, dozens of red and white cones, barriers and blocks guide traffic through the junction.
