Heathfield Road is pre-New Town. It does not have a regular building line (ie the distance of the front of the property from the highway boundary; usually the back of the kerb or verge). The way the post office is set back suggests that it was built at a different time to its neighbours, some of which look 19th-century, eg: next door http://www.geograph.org.uk/p/3955794
