Opened in 1890 by the North British Railway on the line from Thornton to Dunfermline, this station eventually superseded Cowdenbeath 'old' station, which was on a less convenient alignment. It was for many years referred to as Cowdenbeath 'new' station. View north east towards Lochgelly and Glenrothes with Thornton.
