Clifford Castle

Founded in 1070 by William FitzOsbern (He also founded Hay Castle) to protect a new Norman settlement which latter became Clifford. Although Clifford is now a small village, maps from C14 show that the three major settlements in Herefordshire were Wigmore, Clifford and Hereford.
