The first part of the dual track for Chiltern Railways’ Oxford - Marylebone link was laid on 2nd April 2014 at the London Road level crossing to the North East of Bicester Town station. Until very recently this was a single track level crossing, although further back in time it was dual tracked, as the Geograph photo Bicester (London Road) Station suggests. You may notice that there is little sign of Bicester Town station in April 2014. Train services from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone are scheduled to start running from Autumn 2015 and from Oxford to Milton Keynes and Bedford from December 2017.
