Old bridge near Llanstephan

Until the Cambrian Railway (Mid Wales section) closed in 1962 there was no public road on the east side of the river Wye between Llanstephan and Erwood. Following closure, a nearby lane was merged into the old trackbed near this bridge and ran to a point just short of Erwood station. The bridge abutments clearly show space for two tracks although only a single track was ever laid.
