A new single-track down (northbound) line built in 2012-13 now carries Cambridge trains. Starting by crossing the East Coast Main Line on a flyover north of Hitchin, it snakes across fields between Ickleford and Letchworth before joining the existing Cambridge line. This picture was taken from the 9.20 Cambridge to King's Cross train on a sunny April day. Compare this picture with two taken by Christopher Hilton during the line's construction: Image] (July 2012) and Image] (October 2012).
