Commemorating John Twinbury (died 1720). This specimen is very unusual in that the angel head is placed below the inscription rather than at the head of the stone. It has been laid into the footpath leading to the priest's door into the church, but the blank space below the angel suggests that it was intended to be (and may have been) set upright. The verse below the dedication may not quite mean what was intended. It reads: Do not for me in tears remain Your loss I hope will be my gain. Sounds as if he was happy to get away from his acquaintances!
