Duesbery House, No.44 Duesbery Street, large, detached house, originally with a coach house within its curtilage: Image Good frieze immediately below first floor window and above entrance door, depicting various animals in relief. The street takes its name from John A. Duesbury, a late 19th century postmaster of Kingston upon Hull, with a high reputation for his humanitarian principles. Although early OS maps showed the correct spelling of his name, it has, at some stage, become corrupted to 'Duesbery'.
