Just across the road from the church. As I took this photo I couldn't help noticing a flock of red kites wheeling overhead, Without making any special effort I counted 18 - and there were more a little further off. Sydenham lies close to sites where red kites were re-introduced - with outstanding success - circa 1990. Although good numbers have dispersed from locally reared broods, large numbers remain in Oxfordshire and neighbouring parts of Buckinghamshire.
