Almshouses at East Street, Harrietsham

These attractive almshouses are to be found along East Street, to the south-east of Harrietsham and on the other side of the A20 from the main village. The inscription over the central doorways says "These Alms houses were founded and endowed Anno 1642 by MARK QUESTED Esqr. a Native of this Place, and a Member of the Worshipful Company of FISHMONGERS of LONDON.
