Rowing is a major sport in Cambridge. Several University colleges are among the boat clubs that have their own boathouses along the north bank of the River Cam this side of the city centre. This one belongs to Jesus College, was designed by the architect Morley Horder and built in 1932 to replace a Victorian building destroyed by fire in September of that year.
