Quarried hillock

A small hill on the valley floor forces the Afon Miwl into a loop to the east where it steepens the valley side quite markedly. The harder rock comprises flaggy sandstones of the Bailey Hill Formation (Silurian, Gorstian to Ludfordian). Here there is a small quarry for hardcore for farm purposes.
