Buses serving Blackness are hardly ten-a-penny, but they do exist. Just as well, because the village has no shop, pub or any other services at all apart from the public conveniences. Behind the bus is The Guildry, a 1960s West Lothian County Council redevelopment occupying the prime site on the shore, and instantly recognisable as 'cooncil hoose gothic' by the ill-proportioned windows and beige harling.
