The architect was James Thomson, born 1867, who had his practice in Bo'ness, and it is thought to be his last work. The original intention was to build a cruciform church, but only the crossing was built, which partly explains its unusual appearance. The church was built in 1914-1915 for the Scottish Episcopal Church. In 1949 the Church of Scotland bought it, and it is now known as Blackness Mission Church. See also Image]
