Despite its surroundings within Gravesend and next to the very busy East Milton Road (A226), the Churchyard of St Peter & St Paul, Milton next Gravesend with Denton (to give it its full title according to the notice board) must be about the most colourful and attractive I have seen. Few country churchyards are quite like this one in springtime - see for example http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3900266 Although clearly once a village church on the outskirts of Gravesend, it has been thoroughly absorbed in the eastward march of the town. Along the western edge of the churchyard, this memorial garden has been created for the deposit of ashes. It is so much better than the rather formal plots in a lot of churchyards as here they have created a colourful mini garden. The houses behind are in Raphael Road.
