The 2008 edition Explorer map still shows this as a yellow road (normally that means a public road open to motor vehicles). Since then, it has been closed to motor traffic and is effectively now a bridleway. Only a narrow ribbon of tarmac is still visible as the rest of the width of the road has succumbed to vegetation.
