Historic pub on Thames Street, opposite Salisbury Street. C16, with some exposed beams, stone- and brickwork and wooden panelling. TV, games machine, darts and events room upstairs. Cask ales on offer at my visit: Hopback Summer Lightning, Sharp's Doom Bar (on handpump), and Wells DNA (served by gravity).
