Just beyond the level field in the foreground, a horizontal line marks the trackbed of the old 13 km long railway from Rachan Junction which was built in 1897 in conjunction with the construction of the Talla Reservoir. The Reservoir was completed in 1905 and the railway was closed soon afterwards.
