The row of flint cottages on the left date from the early 19th century and line what was until the late 1970s the main A27 through the village. To the right is the entrance to the footbridge across the current A27 whose construction caused the removal of a number buildings on that side. Prior to that the street became the main road through the village when the original route, which followed the old park boundary and ran along Mill Street, was moved southwards. The current street ends at the junction with Image with just Image remaining of the old course of the road before it rejoins its current alignment.
