A commercial area for what is described as 'Europe's fastest-growing academic medical centre' - a team of scientists and business people with commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, working with researchers, industry and investors to create new drugs, diagnostic tools and medical devices. Key areas of research excellence in Edinburgh include regenerative medicine, inflammation and oncology. http://www.edinburghbioquarter.com/ . Already being pushed by the City of Edinburgh Council in 2010, but so far very little occupied, with the site only about one-quarter occupied in 2014.
