Two attractive buildings, both by Flockton, Gibbs & Flockton. The former is very French with its pronounced mansard roof and channelled lesenes at the angles. Nice carved pediment too (Image]). Built 1895 as an auction house (now Caffe Nero). Grade II listed. The narrow front of the latter reflects "the width of plots preserved from much earlier development". It dates from 1889. (Now occupied by Virgin Media.)
