Cape Elise off Greenock

Bulk carrier Cape Elise suffered engine failure in the Atlantic 180 miles off Ireland in early February while carrying coal from Columbia to Hunterson. She was towed to her destination and unloaded her cargo before being towed further up the River Clyde to Greenock where she will undergo repairs at the Great Harbour over a three week period. Four tugs (three of which can be seen here) are preparing to tow the 289-metre-long ship stern-first to the Great Harbour from the Tail O' The Bank between Greenock and Helensburgh. She will be the biggest ship to berth there for more than 20 years. The houses in the foreground are at John Street. East India Harbour is on the left, Victoria Harbour on the right.
