One of two walled gardens at Wakehurst Place, named after Sir Henry Price who with his wife Lady Eve Price owned Wakehurst Place from 1936 until his death in 1963, after which it was passed to the National Trust. Their tenure saw the further development of the gardens which had started under the previous owner, Gerald Loder (later Lord Wakehurst) who had purchased the estate of 1903. The gardens, now managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens who lease them from the National Trust, are grade II* listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1000189. In the background is the grade II* listed 18th century stable block - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1354792.
