The foul water from the temporary overground pumps, having been pumped, manhole to manhole, all the way down West Street, finally discharges here opposite Lotts general store, at the foot of Cams Hill, into the stream. The skip presumably contains some kind of coarse filter. I was careful to keep on the upstream side of this discharge. Later, the skip was covered by a tarpaulin.
