The Church Hall is situated between the Rectory and St James's Church. Below the large window to the right of the entrance door is the foundation stone, which reads: "To the glory of god and to the advancement of his work in the parish of St James, Sutton, this stone was laid by Mrs. Horace Waterhouse 20th June 1933 ........" Viewed from the adjoining churchyard.
