Apart from the cupola, the only surviving part of the original church or 'Bell Chapel' at Thornton is this wall. The Chapel was built between 1587 and 1612. Patrick Bronte was parson here from 1815. For a detailed view of the masons' stones to the right of the doorway, see Image
