Ross - Monmouth old railway

Now a pleasant walk around the edge of Ross. This line was closed to passengers in 1959 but part of the route was retained to serve the cable works at Lydbrook (see my photos at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3853764 and http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3853757). This arrangement was stopped in November 1965 when the line from Gloucester to Ross closed, leaving the cable works as the sole reason for what was basically a twenty five mile long siding from Gloucester to Lydbrook.
