Westbury has this new venue for the memorial, after the old obelisk was removed from the Market Square in 1975. The flagpoles were sponsored in 2011 thanks to efforts by the local council, British Legion, Lions Club and the Westbury Area Board. However, there is a move to reinstate the old memorial.
