The surrounding pits have all gone. The slag heaps all but disappeared. Two of the adjacent railway stations closed, one now reopened. The huge Annesley locomotive depot and yards opposite now just a memory. But the Station Hotel lives on amongst its everchanging surrounds. Local CAMRA pub of the season last summer 2006.
