The site of a large copper working mill established by the Parys Mine company under the management of 'Copper King' Thomas Williams. This was also known as the battery works because it hammered metal using a battery of tilt hammers (nothing to do with chemical storage of electricity). The hammers were used for copper and brass. The site used water power but there is also evidence of steam power with a chimney opposite. The big wall is the mill dam and there is evidence of a launder towards the bottom right. It was raining and horrid!
