On the Rankine Building on University Avenue. A nearby plaque reads as follows... "This sculpture, by LUCY BAIRD, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Regius Chair of Civil Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Glasgow. It was made possible through the generosity principally of Norwest Holst; also of British Steel Stainless, graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering, local civil engineering companies, the Scottish Arts Council, and the City of Glasgow District Council."
