Rest Harrow and The Dunes

Large houses on the Sandwich Bay estate. Rest Harrow, on the left, was built in 1910 for Viscount Waldorf Astor and Lady Nancy Astor by the architect Paul Phipps, who was a pupil of Sir Edwin Lutyens and a brother in law of Lady Astor. It was used by the Astors as a summer retreat. Grade II listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1247851.
